About the Library
The Women's Centre Library is located in TC3014, our All Genders Resource Area. You will find the entrance in the Rotunda (between Maggie Benston Centre and the gym) across from SFPIRG. Self-identified women may also enter through the lounge.
Our library owns over 4,000 items exploring a wide range of topics from a feminist or women-centric perspective - including history, law, literature, immigration, economics, environment, health, art, and more. Drop by for research help, to browse our shelves, or to find a book or magazine for reading and relaxation purposes.
Who is eligible to take out resources?
All students, staff, and faculty of SFU, as well as community members, are eligible to check out our resources. All genders are welcome to access our library and check out resources.
What kinds of resources do we carry?
The Women’s Centre offers a variety of resources including books, movies, magazines, zines and journals for feminist research, emotional support, and personal development. Whether you're looking for scholarly resources for a class project, a children's picture book featuring positive representation, or fiction for stress-relief reading, we can help!
How long can resources be checked out for?
Books can be checked out for three weeks. Magazines, zines and journals can be checked out for two weeks, and DVDs for one week. All resources can be renewed online at the catalogue or by contacting the resource assistant.
How can I return my books?
You can return materials 24/7 using the book return drop slot located beside the TC3014 door, located across from SFPIRG and the ACHSA. If we are open, you are welcome to come on in and drop the books off in the wooden bin near the Resource Assisstant’s desk. Thank you!
